About Me: Lorie Davis

I am a self-taught artist... Several years ago, my family went through a traumatic experience, and I needed an outlet - I picked up a pencil, and never looked back.

 

When I first started teaching myself how to draw and then paint, I used what books I could find in the local library, but mostly I would pick an object, and try to draw what I saw. But in today's atmosphere of technology, it's hard not to appreciate sites such as YouTube.com.

When I started out, I tried to be as realistic as possible, now, I find myself drawn more to abstract. I absolutely love Monet's work.

I strive to create art that feeds, nurtures and soothes my soul, and hopefully yours as well.
